One of the group's two big Vampire players is back in town after missing the last two gaming sessions. Our Dark Heresy campaign has come to a natural breaking point. Everyone's summary for what their Vampire character has been doing over the time skip is due by start of the night. The only game book on the table is Vampire: The Masquerade, Revised Edition.

Me: So, it's pretty clear what game we'll be playing. [pause] D&D, 4th edition.

Steve: House ruled back to 3.5.

genhavoc: Because DS just asked me if I'd be willing to bring in a second character.
IRWriter86: ...
genhavoc: That's right.
IRWriter86: And now you'll actually have a human to interact with!
genhavoc: This is true!
genhavoc: Which of course means he's going to WANT to interact with you
genhavoc: REPENT, SINNER! THE DAY OF JUDGMENT IS AT HAND!
IRWriter86: Hehehe.
IRWriter86: I'm going to enjoy this.
genhavoc: ...
genhavoc: Uh oh
IRWriter86: Because Hunter is going to mention sex at some point in time.
genhavoc: WHY are you going to enjoy it?
genhavoc: ARE YOU PLOTTING EVIL?
IRWriter86: And I am always plotting evil.
genhavoc: Damnit! You are plotting evil!

Talking to my brother about the new KOTOR game we're starting table top:

"So, it's going to be a tough adjustment for some people. Chris is going to be deadly with a lightsaber, but can't be the same kind of dick he usually plays and still be a Jedi in good standing.

[yoda voice] "Dickishness leads to douchebaggery. Douchebaggery leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to the dark side."[/yoda voice]

ImperialFeline: You're too inexperienced to teach. You're just one of the more advanced students. You are supposed to help tutor/watch the younglings because of the shortage of teachers.

ImperialFeline: You're a Jedi grad student.

IRWriter86: Hahaha.

Me and Havoc discussing TF

Havoc: You'll have to do better you cheap copy of Thundercracker.

Me: I'm a third rate Cyclonus knock off. Get it right.

Havoc: I abjectly apologize.

ImperialFeline (6:53:44 PM): Let me explain by way of example. Obi-Wan doesn't have attachments.
ImperialFeline (6:54:15 PM): He loved Anakin, cared for Luke, cherished the Jedi Order. But he could deal with their loses in a rational way. He was not disbalanced by his ties and affections.
ImperialFeline (6:54:21 PM): Anakin was attached to Padme.
aiifharbinger (6:54:32 PM): ah

ImperialFeline (6:54:54 PM): attachment is when emotion clouds your judgement and moral sense.

Really?
I would have never guessed.
I mean. Truly, I am shocked.
The only way I could possibly be more shocked is if you said you wrote small novels for posts.

genhavoc
I hate you

With regards to the limits of even badass characters to engage huge numbers of enemies:

If they have way more tanks than you have men, you might want to reconsider.

genhavoc: Two ogres getting into a drunken brawl is a sufficiently large scale war, I'd say
IRWriter86: Oh, well. If you're counting those...
IRWriter86: Then we are in a constant state of war.
genhavoc: That's sort of what I'd assume
genhavoc: By the way: Rule 1 for Romans going to Ogreland:
genhavoc: "Do not get into drinking contests"
genhavoc: Rule 2: "Seriously, do not get into drinking contests. This is not a goddamn dinner party at the Domus Publicae"
IRWriter86: Hahaha.
IRWriter86: Exactly.
genhavoc: Rule 3: "It is suprisingly socially acceptable to simply beat the shit out of anyone who insults you."
genhavoc: Rule 4: "Bear in mind however that the person who did so is an ogre"
IRWriter86: I love my country...
genhavoc: Rule 5: "When in doubt, complement the other guy's weapons."

IRWriter86: Most troubling.
I think Hizir might have to try to take advantage of this situation, win some brownie points for himself among the fleet, and maybe take over a fleet.
me: How exactly does he plan to do that?
IRWriter86: I'm... still working on that.
At the very least, he is going to have to take actions to win himself some more brownie points. Even though he does hate Cardassians.
me: How?
IRWriter86: We will see how things evolve.
Too many variables to come up with a set plan.
me: What is the objective then?
IRWriter86: Get in the good graces of the fleet. If I can win an Orion fleet without too much bloodshed, that too.
me: That will take quite a plan
IRWriter86: I'm good with plans.
me: Really?
IRWriter86: Ok, I'm good at making things up as I go along.
me: Your plan is usually "Fly headlong into an insanely powerful enemy while screaming"

1st level: When angry kittens can kill you
In fact... an angry cat can kill the average first level wizard in 1 round...
it is sad
imperialfeline
Should try throwing kittens at kobolds. A basket full of kittens as 1st level purchase.

...
Go for the eyes Mittens, go for the EYES!!!
imperialfeline
it makes perfect sense.
aiifharbinger
I should crack open the books and see what ferrets dropped down someone's pants can do

imperialfeline
Min 1hp of damage, multiple attacks, good (by low level standards) AC, easily transported, cheap . . .
aiifharbinger
Yeah... you just have to carry the basket with you. And they can even get your character laid
aiifharbinger
they are a high utility item
